Reel in Excitement: Inshore Fishing Frenzy off Barnstable Harbor!

Non-stop bites all day long! I had the pleasure of taking Joe out for an exciting 4-hour inshore fishing adventure with Annie Bee Sportfishing this summer. We set off from Barnstable Harbor in the early morning, ready to explore the rich waters off Cape Cod. The conditions were perfect for a day on the water - clear skies and calm seas greeted us as we left Barnstable Marina. It was shaping up to be an ideal day for targeting some of the area's prized Striped Bass.

With our gear rigged and ready, we headed offshore to some of my favorite spots. I decided to start with some bottom fishing, as the tide and conditions looked promising for this technique. We dropped our lines and it wasn't long before we felt the telltale tug of a fish on the other end. As we continued, I switched things up and we tried our hand at trolling, which proved to be equally effective. The variety of techniques kept things interesting, and Joe seemed to be enjoying the constant action. We even mixed in some jigging, which is always a fun and active way to target fish.

Our efforts paid off when Joe landed a nice 22-inch Striped Bass - a great catch that put up a good fight. While we didn't land any monsters, the consistent action made for an enjoyable and productive trip. We wrapped up our time on the water with smiles all around, having experienced some of the best that Barnstable's offshore waters have to offer.

To say we did well is an understatement! We had a special guest Marcus from Wampanoag Shells, and he was a fish magnet! Started off with fish 27”-35” and then we moved to one of our secret spots.
